An overview of lessons
The Lessons feature operates similarly to the Risks & Issues module, providing a streamlined approach for creating, tracking, and managing lessons across the Platform.
Platform-wide Creation and Tracking: Lessons can be initiated from any module—such as RoPA, DPIA, POA, Incident Management (IM), and Projects—and will automatically appear in the dedicated Lessons Log under Governance for centralised management.
Organisational Structure: To facilitate effective organisation, a default Project Group called Lessons and a default Project named Lessons Governance are available to categorise all Lessons.
Association with Forms and Tasks: Lessons can be linked to forms and tasks within the Platform. When associated with a form (e.g., RoPA, DPIA, POA, IM), the Lesson will appear in the corresponding log. Additionally, Lessons can have child Tasks, enhancing integration with workflows and tracking.
Global Integration and Dashboard Visibility: The Top 10 Lessons card on My Dashboard and the Lessons card on the Organisation Dashboard provide users with a quick view of Lessons filtered by status and priority, promoting awareness and accountability across teams.

Enhanced Notifications: In-Platform and email notifications ensure team members remain informed about critical changes to Lessons. These notifications include updates such as:
- Owner and member assignments
- Title, priority, and review date updates
- Lesson closure, reopening, and deletion
- Checklist and custom data modifications
- Task association and updates within Lessons
- Task closure, reopening, and deletion
Expanded Task Integration: Lessons have been added as a new option in the Type of Association field in the Tasks popup, fully integrating Lessons within the Governance framework. Users can also associate Tasks directly with Lessons, making them actionable and trackable through the same workflow
Direct Task Creation from Risks & Issues: Users can now create associated (child) Tasks directly within the Risks & Issues edit popup, enabling them to break down larger Risks and Issues into manageable steps. These associated Tasks default to the same Project Group and Project but can be reassigned as needed.
These new capabilities make Lessons a valuable addition, improving learning, task management, and accountability within the Platform. This integration across modules supports a holistic approach to continuous improvement and organisational learning.
