Is Application Requests included in the Application Platform licence? Application Requests

Yes, Application Requests is included in the Application Platform licence. Organisations can choose to enable or disable this feature alongside the Application Library, or use it as a standalone feature for managing application requests.

What is the difference between the Request button in the Application Library and Application Requests? Application Requests

The Request button in the Application Library is used to request access to an application that is already available in your organisation's Application Library. Application Requests are used to request a new application that is not yet available in your organisation's Application Library.

In short, use the Request button to request access to an existing application, and use Application Requests to request a new application for your organisation.

What are the levels of access for Application Requests, and who can approve or reject requests? Application Requests

There are two levels of access for Application Requests:

  • Application Request administrators can view all requests submitted within the organisation and approve, reject, edit and delete them. Access is granted by a 9ine Platform Administrator in User Management by enabling the permission to approve, reject and delete Application Requests.
  • Authorised Users can submit new Application Requests and track the status of their own requests, but they cannot view or manage requests submitted by other users.

How are administrators notified of new application requests? Application Requests

When a new Application Request is submitted or an existing request is updated, email notifications are sent to the email addresses configured under Request New Application in Organisation Profile.

Application Request administrators can also view and manage all requests within the Application Requests log.

How do I submit a new application request? Application Requests

Select New Request from either the Application Library or the Application Requests log, then enter the application title and complete the required information across the following steps:

  • Application Request
  • Safety & Privacy
  • Custom Questions

When you have completed all required information, select Save & Request to submit your request.

For detailed guidance, see the Application Requests article.

How does an administrator approve or reject an application request? Application Requests

Open the Application Requests log, select the three-dot menu for the relevant request, and then choose Approve or Reject. Enter a reason for your decision and confirm your selection.

The requester will be notified of the decision by email and an in-platform notification.

For detailed guidance, see the Application Requests article.

Do I need to set anything up before staff can use Application Requests? Application Requests

Yes. Before staff can use Application Requests, a 9ine Platform Administrator must configure at least one email recipient under Request New Application in Organisation Profile. These recipients will receive email notifications when new requests are submitted or existing requests are updated.

Until at least one email recipient has been configured, the Application Request administrator permission cannot be enabled.

What happens after a request is approved? Application Requests

When an Application Request is approved, the requester is notified by email and an in-Platform notification.

The administrator can then either:

  • Create a new Application in the Application Library, or
  • Quickstart the application from the Application Directory if a matching application is available.

The application is not published automatically. It must be reviewed and published in accordance with your organisation's normal application management process.
