We are pleased to announce an update to the notification settings, designed to give users greater control over the notifications they receive.
Enhancements to the notification settings to allow greater control
We have updated the toggle buttons in notification settings, giving users the ability to enable or disable notifications based on their preferences. By default, General Updates - For Others will be disabled, while General Updates - For Me will be enabled. This allows users to customise their notifications, reducing unnecessary messages.
When users turn off notifications for a specific category, they will stop receiving notifications related to it. Upon re-enabling notifications, they will resume receiving updates for that category from that point forward. For example, if a user disables General Updates - For Others on January 1st and re-enables it on January 5th, they will only receive notifications for that category starting from January 5th.
We have also refined the definitions of General Updates - For Me and General Updates - For Others to provide clearer alignment with user roles and responsibilities. The updated descriptions in the notification settings are as follows:
- General Updates - For Me: This notification sends an email and in-App notification with updates on changes to items where you are the owner, reviewer, approver, notified user, DP lead, or IT lead.
-
General Updates - For Others: This notification sends an email and in-App notification with updates on changes to items you are associated with but not directly responsible for, such as being a member of an item, owner of a parent item, or linked task notifications. For example, if you are the vendor assessment owner, you will be notified when a processing operation assessment member or owner makes changes.
